Birds of Prey Walk & Porto Godi Wine Tasting

Prior to our experience with the Birds of Prey, we will be visiting a local vineyard and winery. The Piovene Porto Godi family produces wine and oil in Toara, in one of the best areas of the Berici Hills. Their specialty is for local grapes, such as Tai Rosso. With 220 hectares of land and 28 hectares of company vineyards, the location is perfect. This winery is in the heart of the DOC, sheltered in a natural amphitheater in the southern part of the Berici Hills. While there you'll enjoy a tour of the winery and wine tasting. You'll even have a chance to buy wine while you're there!

After the wine tasting we'll be traveling to a falconry farm at the edge of the Berici hills to have a hands on experience with falcons, vultures, and owls! On this trip we will learn about the biology and ethology of these birds of prey. After some learning and explanation about the birds, we will slowly become acquainted with them, eventually getting to hold the birds themselves. After the class about the birds, we will set off on a walk around the surrounding hills, all while holding our birds of prey! The walk will be about 1.5km and we will watch the sunset from the hills. After the experience there will be time given to eat food and drink beer at the attached birreria.
