Europe has many well-known Christmas markets and Italy is no exception! Travel to South Tyrol with us to experience two beautiful markets: the Bolzano and Merano Christmas markets. Located at one of the most popular holiday destinations in Europe, the Bolzano and Merano Christmas markets have a wonderful mix of Italian tradition and Austrian influence.
Following the Christmas market trip we'll head 40 minutes up the road toward Castelrotto for their Krampus Run and festival! This old Austrian legacy tells that every winter, on Christmas, Saint Nicolas bring gifts to the good children while Krampus (the mountain demon) accompanied him to punish and scare the bad children. In this Krampus run, people will be dressed as different version of Krampus, some that spit fire, smoke and throw chains, while the rest of the " bad children" that run away from Krampus. With music and more this event is a must see!
