Hiking Trip: Rifugio Mulaz Circuit

Hit the trail with us for this spectacular hike in the Dolomites!

Note: This event has already passed.

This unforgettable Rifugio Mulaz circuit hike in the Pale di San Martino Dolomites is a strikingly beautiful and very challenging hike. Starting in alpine pastures full of cows, the path climbs over the mountains, making stops at two rifugio’s (mountain huts). The path is a circuit hike or loop, which will return to the parking lot of origin. We'll follow a gravel road through Val Venegia valley to Malga Venegiota. The gravel road cuts across alpine pastures, where free-roaming cattle graze in summer. As we follow the road, we'll walk toward the northern chain of the Pala Group, which towers over the valley. As we progress, we’ll walk along the Torrento Travignolo stream and through a pine forest.

The Malga Venegiota alpine pasture hut is a destination in and of itself. This is a perfect spot to grab coffee and a cake. From here you will continue to hike over mountain passes until reaching Rifugio Mulaz. Rifugio Mulaz is the perfect opportunity for a lunch break before you continue your hike. The hike continues over another mountain pass before returning to the parking lot.

A note on weather: Outdoor Recreation will review the conditions ahead of time to ensure they are appropriate for the hike. We will not cancel for rain unless it is deemed unsafe for hiking. If it is found that the conditions are not suitable, you will be notified and we will inform you about refund information.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

This is not a guided trip. Outdoor Recreation is providing transportation and will have a meeting on the specifics of hiking the trail prior to releasing participants to hike. As such it must be understood the hike is done at your own pace and must be completed before 4:15 p.m.
