Join Outdoor Recreation to learn more about and to truly practice Nordic Walking. Nordic Walking is a sport that is practice by using special walking poles. These poles become the extension of the arms and allow you to involve the whole body in the walk.
It works out:
- Chest
- Dorsal
- Triceps
- Biceps
- Shoulders
- Abdominal muscles
It is practically a different way of walking that requires control and coordination and provides an acceleration to your metabolism!
Class Begins: Tuesday, April 20 (four classes over four weeks)
Class Runs: 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Duration: 1.5 hours
Location: Ederle Turf Field
Number of classes: Four (4)
What You'll Learn:
- Recovery of natural walking
- Vertebral and postural realignment
- Knowledge and use of the Nordic Walking stick
- Coordination, control and thrust with sticks, alternating and parallel steps
- Use of the hand
- Techniques for trekking
What to Bring:
- Your own walking poles
- Water
- Activity appropriate attire
